SDLP - Important To Acknowledge Our Carers

Paying tribute to the carers in our society during a pre-Christmas visit to the Dal Riada Hospital, SDLP North Antrim MLA Seán Farren and Moyle Council Colleagues Madeline Black and Catherine McCambridge said:

“We all owe a great deal of gratitude to the carers in our society who serve us in so many, many ways. Foremost amongst them are those in the medical service, doctors, nurses and all their assistants. Some of them will be working on Christmas day tending to those too ill to be at home with their families. Others like those in the emergency services will be on call to deal with crises whether because of fire outbreaks, or accidents on land or sea. With them will be members of the police service who have to respond to all kinds of calls.

“At this time of year it is important that we acknowledge their roles in society and that we thank them for the work they have done throughout the past year.

“Hospital workers have a very special call on our support and we are taking the opportunity to acknowledge that in our visit to the ‘Dal’. This hospital has a special place in the affections of the people in North Antrim because of its work down through the years. We wish all the staff a very happy Christmas and a peaceful new year.”
