Congratulations to Cushendall

 

The SDLP has offered warm congratulations to the Ruairí Óg of Cushendall on winning the Ulster Club championship and so qualifying for the all-Ireland Club Championship with the possibility of a place in the final in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day.

 

Councillor Orla Black from Cushendall said: “This is another fine victory by our local team which has is celebrating its centenary this year. It would be tremendous if Ruairí Óg was to win the all-Ireland final this year. Everybody in village and throughout North Antrim will be behind the team and wishing it well on the road to the final.

 

North Antrim MLA Sean Farren said: “We all want to see Ruairí Óg go on to play in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day and wish the team and its management every success. Hurling is so much part of life in the Glens that it will be a great boost to everyone if Ruairí Óg bring off the ultimate prize. The team has done so well so far there is every hope it can go all the way.”
